A reflector telescope or reflecting telescope is a
telescope that uses curved reflecting surfaces to
magnify the signal rather than lenses (a refracting telescope)
or other apparatus.
The term is generally used for telescopes with mirrors that observe
visible light or ultraviolet or near infrared,
but others (such as radio telescopes) also include types
that fit the definition, reflecting their radiation analogously.
Isaac Newton built an early (visible-light) example, perhaps the first.
