The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO)
is a Mars probe launched in 2005 by NASA.
It went into Mars orbit in 2006 for a two-year
primary mission and is still operational in
2024 with hopes of using it into the late 2020s,
working around some "aging" problems.
Instruments:
Among its ongoing uses is scouting for Mars landing missions,
and relaying communications for other Mars missions.
