Luhman 16 (Luhman 16AB, WISE 1049-5319 or WISE J104915.57-531906.1) is a nearby binary star consisting of two brown dwarfs, discovered in 2013 in data from the Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer (WISE). It is the closest star system to us beyond Alpha Centauri and Barnard's Star. Characteristics:
