Barnard's Star

Barnard's Star (GJ 699) is a low-mass
red dwarf about 6 light-years away.
It is the 4th closest known star
after the three stars of
Alpha Centauri.
Characteristics:
An extra-solar planet (GJ 699 b) has been announced as
confirmed in 2024, discovered (along with two more
candidates) through the radial velocity method.
These do not match an earlier candidate that
was announced in 2018.
