RESOLVE
(Resolved Spectroscopy of a Local Volume)
(galaxy and gas survey limited to 65-100 Mpc)
RESOLVE (for Resolved Spectroscopy of a Local Volume)
was a survey of two slices of the celestial sphere
within a defined distance-range (65-100 Mpc), aiming to assemble
comprehensive data on galaxies, gas, and dark matter
within the volumes. It drew from existing survey data,
additionally incorporating new radio-astronomy observational
data (for the 21-cm line) from Arecibo Observatory and the GBT,
and new UVOIR observational data from SOAR, SALT,
Gemini Observatory, and Anglo-Australian Telescope.
ECO (for Environmental Context, referring to the environment
around the RESOLVE volumes) was basically the same effort, but
including the data gathered without regard to RESOLVE's defined
distance limits.
