UVOIR
(UV, optical, and infrared)
(a spectral "band name" covering UV, visible light, and IR)
The term UVOIR (for UV, optical, and infrared) indicates
ultraviolet, visible light and infrared and is used
to describe astronomy and telescopes that observe any or all
of the three.
The mirrors of visible light telescopes generally can focus
considerable ultraviolet and infrared light and using UV-
and IR-sensitive instruments, they can generally do some work in
all three bands.
