Pioneer Venus Orbiter
(PVO, Pioneer 12, Pioneer Venus 1)

Pioneer Venus Orbiter (PVO, Pioneer 12, or Pioneer Venus 1)
was a space probe launched in 1978 for Venus, operational
until 1992 when it ran out of propellant and eventually was
burned in Venus's atmosphere. In 1986, the PVO observed
Comet Halley.
