(PVO, Pioneer 12, Pioneer Venus 1)

Pioneer Venus Orbiter (PVO, Pioneer 12, or Pioneer Venus 1) was a space probe launched in 1978 for Venus, operational until 1992 when it ran out of propellant and eventually was burned in Venus's atmosphere. In 1986, the PVO observed Comet Halley. Instruments:
