W51

(W 51, 3C 400, Westerhout 51)
(cloud complex radio source)

W51 (aka W 51 or 3C 400) is a cloud complex first noticed as a bright radio source. Three portions of interest are the two star-forming regions W51 A and W51 B, and supernova remnant W51 C. It is relatively close at 5 kpc and is of interest for a number of its features, including young early stars (OB stars).
