Westerhout Radio Survey
(W)
(1950s radio survey of the galactic plane)
The abbreviation W has been used for a survey
described by Gart Westerhout in 1958, of 82 1390-MHz (the
21-cm-line frequency) radio sources in the Milky-Way-region
of the celestial sphere,
performed on the Dwingeloo Radio Observatory.
Sources included nebulae and some galaxies in that
region of the sky.
