Sunyaev-Zel'dovich Array
(SZA, SZ Array)
(array of eight 3.5 meter microwave telescopes)
The Sunyaev-Zel'dovich Array (SZ Array or SZA)
was an array of eight 3.5 meter microwave telescopes
at Owens Valley Radio Observatory (OVRO), California, to investigate the Sunyaev-Zel'dovich effect (SZ effect)
on the cosmic microwave background (CMB). It began operation in 2005 and completed
its survey in 2007, after which the
dishes were incorporated into CARMA, which has since
been retired.
