SN 2024ggi

(sn2024ggi)
(2024 supernova studied very soon after the explosion)

SN 2024ggi was a Type II supernova whose discovery was very quickly reported and very quickly observed by multiple efforts, including an observation using the FORS2 instrument on the ESO VLT to carry out spectropolarimetry. Among other things this established the explosion to be asymmetric (i.e., anisotropic) in a matter of hours after the supernova occurred. Also among the early observations were some by the AAVSO.
