spectral line energy distribution

(SLED)
(function or plot of brightness of lines in a spectrum)

A spectral line energy distribution (SLED) is a spectral energy distribution with an emphasis on spectral lines, i.e., to identify a gas and its temperature by analysis of the lines and their implied molecular energy level. A presentation could be a bar graph displaying the relative energy from some astronomical object, of various lines in a line series, the set of lines such as the Balmer series, associated with electron energy levels of some specific element or compound.
