Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory

The Mullard Radio Astronomy Observatory (MRAO) was established in 1957 by the University of Cambridge (UK). Among its past and present radio telescopes:

• Arcminute Microkelvin Imager (AMI).
• an e-MERLIN receiver.
• Very Small Array (VSA) (later relocated to Teide Observatory in Canary Islands).
• Cosmic Anisotropy Telescope (CAT) (decommissioned).
• 4C Array (decommissioned).
• Interplanetary Scintillation Array (IPS Array) (essentially retired).

The latter was that on which pulsars were first noticed. Also at the site is COAST, the Cambridge Optical Aperture Synthesis Telescope, which is currently idle.
