MeerKLASS

(MeerKAT Large Area Synoptic Survey)
(21-cm-line survey using MeerKAT)

MeerKLASS (for MeerKAT Large Area Synoptic Survey) is a 21-cm line intensity mapping survey carried out using MeerKAT. Goals include measuring the HI power spectrum and detecting baryon acoustic oscillations (BAO). The plan is 4000 hours covering 4000 square degrees, using both single-dish operation and interferometry, over the frequency range 580-1670 MHz, covering the 21-cm line over 0.17 > z > 1.45. MeerKLASS Pilot is a 200-hour pilot survey covering a smaller survey field of 200 square degrees.
