magnetic flux

(total magnetism passing through a surface)

Magnetic flux (Φ) is a measure of the magnetic field passing through a surface, specifically measured normal (perpendicular) to the surface at the point through which the field line passes. The SI unit is the weber (Wb) and the CGS unit, the maxwell (Mx).
