flux rope
(rope-shaped structure in magnetic fields associated with coronal mass ejections)
A flux rope is a rope-shaped configuration of magnetic flux
topology associated with some coronal mass ejections.
It consists of flux lines twisted around a central tube-shaped space.
Flux ropes can also occur in the Earth's magnetic field.
