The BRITE-Constellation (Bright Target Explorer Constellation) is a satellite constellation of five nanosatellites in low Earth orbit, each with a 3-cm telescope with a very wide field of view. Six satellites were launched in 2013-2014, of which five became operational. They view numerous stars, collecting data on variable stars and lesser stellar activity. Data post-processing is necessary to deal with calibration: though airmass is avoided, other factors apply, including the temperature of the spacecraft, which is uncontrolled.
