BEAST (for B-Star Exoplanet Abundance Study) is an astronomical survey of 85 B-type stars in the Scorpius-Centaurus Association for extra-solar planets. It uses the SPHERE instrument of European Southern Observatory Very Large Telescope (ESO VLT). SPHERE is designed for exoplanet identification and observation, including direct detection.
