ARGOS (for Advanced Research and Global Observation Satellite)
was a 1999-2003 US space mission aimed at testing technologies,
and studying the upper atmosphere
for the purposes of future technologies.
It included some X-ray binary observations of astrophysical value,
their principal purpose being investigation of their possible
use for future space navigation.
