ARGOS (for Advanced Research and Global Observation Satellite) was a 1999-2003 US space mission aimed at testing technologies, and studying the upper atmosphere for the purposes of future technologies. It did include some X-ray binary observations of astrophysical use, but with a primary aim of investigating their use for future space navigation. Instruments/experiments:
