XO-3b

XO-3b is a massive hot Jupiter orbiting an F-type star with an orbit that is unusually eccentric for a planet so close to the star. It was discovered by the XO Project. Characteristics:

• Host star: XO-3.
• Discovery: by the transit method in 2007.
• 205 pc - distance.
• 0.045 AU - orbital radius.
• 0.2883 - eccentricity.
• 3 days - orbital period.
• 1.2 - radius in Jupiter radii.
• 11.8 - Jupiter masses.
• 1400-2000 K - temperature.
