weak-line star

(metal weak star)
(star with faint spectral lines compared to its spectral class)

A weak-line star (or metal weak star) is a star with spectral lines more faint than usual for its spectral class. Stars with low metallicity, thus with less of some of the associated absorption lines can fall in this category.
