2dF-SDSS LRG and QSO survey
(2SLAQ)
(early 2000s spectroscopic survey of distant galaxies)
The 2dF-SDSS LRG and QSO survey was an astronomical survey
of luminous red galaxies and quasars performed with the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT) 2dF
multi-object spectrograph. It targeted the two types of
objects to make use of the instrument's ability
to efficiently observe many targets within a 2-degree-diameter
field. Observations were carried out over a period lasting
from February 2003 to August 2005.
