pincushion distortion

(distortion such that a square shows with concave edges)

Pincushion distortion is a type of distortion (i.e., an aberration such that an image's shape is affected) in the image of an optical instrument (such as a telescope), such that a square centered in the image is distorted such that its straight edges are (wrongly) concave. The converse is barrel distortion.
