Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey
(PCAS, Palomar Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey)
(search for NEOs using small Palomar Schmidt Camera)
The Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey (PCAS
aka Palomar Planet Crossing Asteroid Survey)
was a survey to identify near-Earth objects (NEOs)
carried out using the Palomar 18 inch Schmidt Camera (P18),
from 1973 until the telescope was retired in 1995.
The PCAS was likely the first survey aimed solely at
identifying NEOs.
