Mars Express

(Mars probe launched by ESA in 2003)

The Mars Express is a Mars probe launched into Mars orbit in 2003 by the European Space Agency (ESA). A lander called Beagle 2 failed to land. The orbiter is still in operation as of 2025, with plans for future operation continuing into 2028. Instruments:

MARSIS - Mars Advanced Radar for Subsurface and Ionosphere Sounding.
OMEGA - Observatoire pour la Minéralogie, l'Eau, les Glaces et l'Activité.
SPICAM - ultraviolet and infrared atmospheric spectrometer.
PFS - Planetary Fourier Spectrometer.
ASPERA - Analyzer of Space plasmas and Energetic Atoms.
HRSC - High Resolution Stereo Camera.
MELACOM - Mars Express Lander Communications.
MaRS - Mars Radio Science Experiment.
VMC - Visual Monitoring Camera.
