(ground gamma-ray telescope array in the Canary Islands)

MAGIC (for Major Atmospheric Gamma Imaging Cherenkov Telescopes), aka the MAGIC Florian Goebel Telescopes is a Cherenkov gamma-ray telescope at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory consisting of two of ground-based telescopes (MAGIC and MAGIC-II) to detect Cherenkov radiation resulting from high energy gamma rays, in the same manner as the Cherenkov Telescope Array. MAGIC went into operation in 2004 with a 2009 upgrade.
