in its host star's habitable zone,
discovered by K2 in 2015.
The star, K2-18 is a red dwarf.
The planet is classified as a hycean planet, i.e.,
a planet covered with water and an atmosphere with substantial
hydrogen. While these suggest the potential for
habitability, actual habitability remains under debate.
