HFLS3

(very distant starburst galaxy)

HFLS3 (HFLS3) is a high-redshift starburst galaxy with an extremely high star formation rate (3000 solar masses per year) discovered in 2013 by Herschel. Its redshift of z = 6.34 places it at 880 million years cosmic time. It is 10-30 times more massive than previously known galaxies at its time.
