(hot Jupiter orbiting an orange dwarf)
HD 189733 b is a hot Jupiter about 65 light-years' distant,
orbiting a K-type star (i.e., orange dwarf, HD 189733 A),
which is the larger star of a binary system,
the other star, a red dwarf (HD 189733 B).
The planet was discovered in 2005 by the radial velocity method
with the ELODIE spectrograph on the OHP 1.93 m telescope,
with transits discovered soon afterward.
Planet characteristics:
(exoplanet,transit method,gas giant)
