DEEP2

(DEEP2 Survey, DEEP2 Redshift Survey)
(redshift survey of 60,000 galaxies)

DEEP2 (DEEP2 Survey or DEEP2 Redshift Survey) is a survey conducted from 2002 to 2008 of the redshift of 60,000 galaxies using Keck's DEIMOS instrument. The survey covered four survey fields including the Extended Groth Strip (EGS). It is a follow-on to the earlier DEEP survey (for Deep Extragalactic Evolutionary Probe) covering three fields including the Hubble Deep Field (HDF) survey region and the Groth Strip. DEEP3 was a third such survey carried out 2009-2010, specifically of the GOODS-North survey field.
