(Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics)
(initiative to produce Earth-science software)
CIG (for Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics) is an
initiative to coordinate the development of software related to
Earth-science. Efforts include software related to the formation
and structure of the Earth,
applicable to other planets and moons,
including smoothed-particle hydrodynamics (SPH) software applicable to impacts.
