Compton Gamma Ray Observatory
(CGRO, GRO)
(1990s space observatory for gamma ray observation)
The Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO or GRO ) was a spacecraft
observing gamma rays . It was launched in 1991 and
functioned until 2000.
Instruments include:
CGRO carried out some surveys and caught gamma-ray bursts (GRBs)
including a very strong burst in early 1999.
