The AFGL Four Color Infrared Sky Survey
was a sounding-rocket-based astronomical survey
of infraredsources carried out in the early
1970s using nine sub-orbital rocket missions,
by the AFGL (Air Force Geophysics Laboratory).
It constituted a pioneering infrared sky survey.
A 1980s revision of the catalog
using additional observations is indicated by the
designatorRAFGL (Revised AFGL).
