Villanova White Dwarf Catalog
(or just White Dwarf Catalog)
is a catalog published in several iterations
over 1977 to 1999, after which it was online with some
subsequent updates, the last such update in 2013.
I'm guessing its catalog maintenance methodology was not suited to
the very large number of white dwarfs being discovered by new
technology, such as Gaia.
