STARFORGE (for Star Formation in Gaseous Environments) is software to simulate star formation. It covers the process from giant molecular clouds to the formation of individual stars, including (among other things) magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), star formation feedback, and stellar dynamics, e.g., the effects of gravity between the protostars. An ambition is to reproduce initial mass functions (IMFs) and star formation efficiencies that are based upon observation. The Anvil of Creation is the nickname of a particular STARFORGE illustrative simulation.
