SPIRou

(Spectropolarimètre infrarouge)
(CFHT spectropolarimeter for exoplanet research)

SPIRou (for Spectropolarimètre infrarouge) is a near infrared spectrograph/polarimeter (spectropolarimeter) installed on the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope with the aim of radial velocity measurements to detect and investigate extra-solar planets. Interest has become high regarding exoplanets around red dwarves, for which infrared spectrography is helpful.

The SPIRou Legacy Survey (SLS) is an astronomical survey aiming make use of considerable SPIRou time to check nearby M dwarves for RV measurements indicating planets, to follow up on TOIs, and to collect data on magnetic fields of protostars for learning more about their contribution to planet formation.
