SPACEWATCH
(survey to study minor planets)
SPACEWATCH is an astronomical survey
begun in 1980 to study minor planets,
asteroids, comets, etc.
The effort has two dedicated telescopes
(0.9 meter and 1.8 meter) and uses some
time on the Mayall 4m Telescope and 2.3 meter Bok Telescope,
all located at Kitt Peak National Observatory.
The effort has made many discoveries including transients,
minor planets, and moons.
Note that the word Spacewatch has been used in
the names of other unrelated efforts such as a
corporation and a digital magazine.
