QMAP
(mid 1990s balloon-based CMB survey)
QMAP was a balloon-borne telescope
to survey the cosmic microwave background (CMB).
It was flown twice in 1996.
Subsequently, the instrument was adapted and
used for ground-based observation, then
named the Mobile Anisotropy Telescope (MAT,
or MAT/TOCO for the actual observing program,
TOCO for its location on Cerro Toco, Chile).
