N galaxy
(galaxy with bright nucleus and faint surroundings)
The term N galaxy is used for a galaxy with a bright nucleus
with faint red surroundings.
The term is a Morgan classification, an alternative
galaxy classification to Hubble's.
N galaxies are generally elliptical galaxies with active galactic nuclei.
