MASCARA

(Multi-site All-sky Camera)
(distributed array of telescopes to search for exoplanets)

MASCARA (Multi-site All-sky Camera) is a set of automated (robotic) telescopes to search for transiting planets. A set in the northern hemisphere began operation at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory (ORM) in 2015 and an additional set in the southern hemisphere at La Silla Observatory (LSO) in 2017. They monitor stars to a magnitude of +8.4. Five extra-solar planet discoveries have been announced. The telescopes also yield light curves of variable stars and candidates.
