Lynx

(Lynx X-ray Observatory, X-ray Surveyor)
(concept for space X-ray observatory)

Lynx (or Lynx X-ray Observatory, earlier X-ray Surveyor) is a NASA plan in the conceptual stages for a future X-ray telescope spacecraft, as a major program (Large Strategic Science Mission aka Flagship Mission) for launch in the 2030s. The planning is considering a 3m telescope with a 10m focal length or a 6m telescope with a 20m focal length. It aims for 50 times the sensitivity as Chandra X-ray Observatory, for an angular resolution of 0.5 arcseconds and for a spectral resolution with R at least 5,000.
