LLAMA

(Large Latin American Millimeter Array, Long Latin American Millimeter Array)
(12-m millimeter telescope under construction in Argentina)

The Large Latin American Millimetre Array (LLAMA) is a 12-meter millimeter/submillimeter telescope under construction in the Puna de Atacama plateau, in Argentina, at an altitude of 4825 meters. The project is an initiative of Argentina and Brazil. It is generally modeled after APEX, and the intention has been to support the same bands as Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA), and to participate in very-long-baseline interferometry efforts. Site preparation began in 2016.
