Las Campanas Redshift Survey
(LCRS)
(1990s survey of galaxies out to z = 0.2)
The Las Campanas Redshift Survey was a 1990s survey
of spectrographic redshifts of 26,000 galaxies,
out to z = 0.2 (corresponding to about 0.75 Gpc).
The survey was carried out using
a multi-object spectrograph
on the 2.5-meter du Pont Telescope
at Las Campanas Observatory (LCO).
The survey is considered an important early step toward determining
the large scale structure of the universe.
