Kormendy Relation
(KR)
(relation between elliptical galaxy luminosity surface brightness)
The Kormendy relation is a relation
between the effective radius of an elliptical galaxy
and the surface brightness at that radius.
It is an inverse relation: the larger the galaxy,
the more diffuse, i.e., more of the galaxy is faint.
