INTEGRAL (for International Gamma-ray Astrophysics Laboratory)
was a European Space Agency (ESA)gamma-raytelescope in space,
launched in 2002 which operated until February 2025
(and expected to continue orbiting until 2029).
Instruments included:
The IBAS (INTEGRAL Burst Alert System) was a system for
prompt alerting of potential observers of gamma-ray bursts.
IBIS had two sets of detectors,
ISGRI ("INTEGRAL soft gamma-ray imager")
and PICsIT ("pixellated imaging CsI telescope",
CsI for thallium-activated cesium-iodide scintillator).
