Interstellar Medium Absorption Profile Spectrograph
(IMAPS)
(1980s/1990s UV spectrometer)
Interstellar Medium Absorption Profile Spectrograph (IMAPS)
was an instrument included in the Space Shuttle
ORFEUS SPAS science package utilized on two science missions,
ORFEUS-SPAS 1 in 1993 and ORFEUS-SPAS 2 in 1996.
IMAPS was also utilized during three 1980s sounding rocket missions.
IMAPS's spectral resolution ranged up to 240,000.
