NEWS (Near-infrared Echelle for Wide-band Spectroscopy, formerly
called HiJak for
High-resolution J, H and K Spectrometer)
is a planned near-infrared spectrographic
instrument for the Lowell Discovery Telescope (LDT).
An earlier plan was to put it on the Hobby-Eberly Telescope.
