The Hercules-Corona Borealis Great Wall
(Her-CrB GW)
is a galaxy filament discovered in 2013 in the investigation of
gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). The evidence for it is the many GRBs from the
region, implying the region has a relatively dense population of
GRB sources, presumed associated with galaxies.
It has a redshift in the range of 1.6-2.1,
i.e., 10 billion light-years' distant, and is
10 billion light-years in its longer dimension,
7.2 billion
light-years wide and 1 billion light-years thick.
It displaced the Sloan Great Wall as the
largest known structure in the universe.
Its size presents scientific questions that
promise to influence theories and research.
