GAMA

(Galaxy and Mass Assembly Survey)
(galaxy spectroscopy survey to roughly 1 Mpc)

GAMA (for Galaxy and Mass Assembly Survey) is a spectroscopic survey of about 300,000 galaxies in the local universe in five survey regions (G02, G09, G12, G15, and G23) totaling about 360 square degrees to a magnitude of 19.8. It uses data from other surveys plus observations by the AAOmega multi-object spectrograph on the Anglo-Australian Telescope (AAT), carried out between 2008 and 2014.
