Field of Streams

(region of sky crossed by a number of stellar streams)

The Field of Streams is a region of the celestial sphere in which a number of stellar streams cross. It was discovered in 2006 in Sloan Digital Sky Survey data. Among the streams are the Sagittarius Stream of the Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy and the Monoceros Ring.
